REVIEW | CLINIQUE + ORIGINS DARK CIRCLE CREAM

After using concealers for years, I still haven't mastered the art of covering up my intense dark circles. Whether it is due to genetics or my consistent lack of sleep, I've accepted that I will be walking around with some degree of dark circles for the rest of my life.

While I may have accepted that part of myself, it doesn't mean I've completely given up the fight. In addition to trying to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night (yeah right), I've found two products that help me manage what was my least favorite part of my routine.

This product does two things for me: it makes my eyes look refreshed, and decreases puffiness. Has it lessened the darkness under my eyes? Not that I've noticed since I started using it about two months ago.

A little goes a long way with this cream. I like using my ring finger to pat it into my skin, letting the reflective properties give me that "wide awake" look. It absorbs quickly, which makes it my favorite to wear under makeup. Its light, does a decent job at reducing puffiness, and an even better job at brightening my under eye area after each use.

This product's claim to fame is that it reduces dark circles by 30% in 12 weeks; a pretty big difference in my book. The metal tip is meant to "break up the puffiness", dispensing the cream in an easy to use application. I haven't noticed that it cuts down puffiness in the least. With continued use, I have seen an improvement in the darkness in that area (30%? Maybe!). The cream itself is tinted, which initially threw me off; however, it goes on completely sheer.

While there are much more expensive eye creams out there, I think these two with the combination of concealers do the trick. I've actually begun to enjoy the dainty application these two products have brought to my routine.

What are you favorite eye creams? Do you have any tricks you can share?
